Tapered roller bearing

A tapered roller bearing is used when the application involves combined radial and axial loads, especially when high load capacity and rigidity are required. Tapered roller bearings are designed so that the rollers and raceways meet at a common point on the bearing axis, allowing them to efficiently support both types of loads simultaneously.

Advantages of tapered roller bearings

  • High radial load capacity
  • Excellent axial (thrust) load support
  • Higher rigidity and shaft positioning accuracy
  • Suitable for shock and heavy-duty loads
  • Available in adjustable configurations for preload or clearance settings

When to choose a tapered roller bearing

Use a tapered roller bearing when:

  • Axial loads are significant in one or both directions
  • Standard ball bearings do not provide enough load capacity
  • Precise shaft alignment and rigidity are important
  • The machine operates under heavy or fluctuating loads
